Project Overview

During a commercial office renovation, CTSS installed and organized the structured cabling infrastructure connecting the facility’s work areas to its network equipment room.

Large groups of data cabling were routed above the suspended ceiling, brought into dedicated overhead pathways, terminated at patch panels, and organized within multiple equipment racks. The finished system provides a clear and manageable foundation for the facility’s network equipment.

The Challenge

The project involved a high volume of cable runs moving through an active renovation environment. The cabling had to be routed around existing ductwork, electrical systems, ceiling infrastructure, and other building components before being consolidated into the network equipment room.

Inside the equipment room, the available space had to accommodate multiple racks, overhead pathways, patch panels, cable management, and future active equipment without creating an unmanageable installation.

The Solution

CTSS established supported overhead pathways for the incoming cabling and routed the cable bundles into the equipment room.

Patch panels and cable-management hardware were installed throughout the racks. Individual runs were then grouped, secured, labeled, and dressed into organized routes at both the front and rear of the rack infrastructure.

The final layout keeps termination points accessible and provides a clear path for future equipment installation, service work, and expansion.

Results

The completed project delivered clearly defined cable routes, organized termination points, and improved access throughout the network equipment room.

The finished rack infrastructure is cleaner, easier to inspect, and better prepared for ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment installation, and future network changes.
